Dr Oluwaferanmi Adeyemo is a Postdoctoral Research Associate, policy researcher, and UK Global Talent Visa recipient recognised for his contributions to social and economic research. He specialises in public policy, place-based development, collaborative governance, employment and skills services, and the role of the voluntary sector in addressing social and economic challenges.

Dr Adeyemo holds a PhD in Social and Economic Research from Sheffield Hallam University, where his doctoral thesis examined the role and experiences of voluntary sector organisations delivering youth employment services in England. His research was recognised as exceptional, and he successfully passed his PhD viva without corrections. He also holds an MA in International Communications and Development (Distinction) from City, University of London, an MSc in Mass Communication from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and a BSc in Mass Communication (Second Class Upper Division) from Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Nigeria.

His research focuses on how governments, communities, businesses, and civil society organisations collaborate to tackle complex social and economic issues, particularly youth employment, labour market inclusion, public service delivery, and inclusive local economic development. He has contributed to a diverse portfolio of interdisciplinary research funded by UKRI, ESRC, Research England, universities, and cross-sector partnerships, working closely with policymakers, local authorities, charities, community organisations, and academic institutions.

Throughout his career, Dr Adeyemo has developed expertise in policy analysis, programme evaluation, qualitative and mixed-methods research, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge exchange. His work spans employment and skills policy, social infrastructure, climate resilience, regional development, community empowerment, and evidence-informed policymaking. He has a growing track record of producing research that informs policy, supports practice, and contributes to public debate.

Among his notable achievements is receiving endorsement from The British Academy under the UK Global Talent Visa programme, recognising his potential to make significant contributions to research and innovation in the United Kingdom. He has also presented his research at national and international conferences, contributed to policy-focused research projects, and built extensive networks across academia, government, the voluntary sector, and international development communities.

Before transitioning fully into academia, Dr Adeyemo worked in communications, media, international development, and the voluntary sector. This multidisciplinary background enables him to bridge research, policy, and practice, translating complex evidence into actionable insights for decision-makers, practitioners, and communities. Through his work, he remains committed to advancing impactful research that strengthens public policy, supports communities, and promotes inclusive social and economic development.
